Att göra egen pepparkaksdeg är inte speciellt svårt. Dessutom är den oftast mycket lättare att baka med (knåda, kavla, flytta) än en köpt färdig deg. Enda nackdelen med min egen deg (som jag kan komma på) är att den är så himla god att barnen gärna äter upp halva degen innan vi ens har hunnit kavla ut den till pepparkakor! ♥
För ca 100 st pepparkakor behöver du:
125 g rumstempererat smör
1,5 dl strösocker
0,5 dl farinsocker
2 msk ljus sirap
1 tsk kanel
1 tsk kardemumma
0,5 tsk nejlika
0,5 tsk torkad ingefära
1 tsk bikarbonat
300 g (5 dl) vetemjöl
2,5 msk vatten
Gör så här:
1 – Se till att smöret är rumstempererat så att du kan arbeta med handen. Arbeta ihop alla ingredienser tills de precis går ihop. Det kan ta en stund eftersom degen kan kännas smulig inledningsvis. Plasta in degen och låt ligga i kylskåp i ca 30 minuter.
2 – Sätt ugnen på 200 grader över- och undervärme. Klä några ugnsplåtar med bakplåtspapper.
3 – Kavla ut lite deg i taget till en tunn rektangel och stansa ut pepparkakor i valfria formar. Lägg på plåtarna och grädda mitt i ugnen i ca 5 minuter. Låt svalna.
(Du kan också välja att kavla direkt på bakplåtspappret, stansa ut, plocka bort överflödig deg och sedan in i ugnen direkt. Då slipper du flytta på dem. Båda sätten funkar bra!)
